HERITY was launched in 1994 thanks to the effort made by specialists in different fields (cultural heritage management, total quality management, archaeology, architecture, engineering, arts, museology, law studies, anthropology, conservation and restoration, communication, tourism) from 27 Countries.
 

The main result of this effort is the HERITY Global Evaluation System (HGES), used to certify the quality of Monuments, Sites, Museums, Libraries and Archives management. Up to 2018, more than 280 evaluations of sites were made.
HERITY is developing its policy through the diffusion of the HGES as well as specific programs.
